To celebrate last night's release of the famed duel map, Blood Run by "ztn", QuakeLive.TV will host a special King of the Hill event this Wednesday, June 10 at 9pm EDT. For anyone new to this event, it is a 1v1 mini-tourney open to the entire QuakeLive community. Anyone can join the server and their attempts to become King of the Hill will be broadcasted to the masses. The winner stays to defend their spot until defeated and a new King is crowned.

First of all the Quake 3 map ztntourny1 is back, but now it is called Blood run. I enjoyed playing the map in Q3, so in one way it's nice to have it back. At the same time I would have preferred to have a new map released for QL instead. Now the QL map pool in 1v1 tournaments will look really similar to the the Q3 tournament map pools. For those of you who have come in contact with me over IRC, you’re probably well aware of the whine that has been surrounding me over the past few weeks - PC whine! So firstly my motherboard gave in (or so I thought) so while I was a little upset, I was happy to finally upgrade with a new CPU (quadcore) and sofourth. This week I brought in the experts to give their opinions on the situation with LAN events, not only in the US but worldwide and what the gamers can do to help bring the good ol' LAN event back.
